When Pamplemousse is told he isn’t allowed to enter the big surfing contest because he is a goat he must decide whether or not to keep doing what he loves.
Kyle Monahan is a Florida native who works in sales management – a far cry from the literary world. This is his first attempt at writing a children’s book and it was all done for his oldest child.
The book is shown as authored by “K Monahan” in order to give both father and daughter credit for the book’s creation. His daughter would request custom bedtime stories night after night which eventually sparked the idea of Pamplemousse, a surfing goat. She loved the story so much it was retold time and time again. So, taking the opportunity afforded by the COVID-19 lock-down situation, Kyle and his wife embarked on a nearly year-long journey to bring the tale of Pamplemousse to life.
The process was not nearly as simple as he had thought it would be but the knowledge, experience, and talented people he found along the way made it worth the struggle.
The very best part of the experience, however, is seeing the look on his children’s faces when they hold in their hands a professional copy of a book dreamt up by their dad. Pamplemousse will forever hold a special place in their hearts, and he hopes it will for other children as well.
